My fruits and nuts cake.


Easy to make and for sure your family and friends will love it.

  • 3 cups of white flour
  • 1 cup of melted butter
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 75 g of dry raisins
  • 75 g  apricots confits (dry)
  • 20 cl  brown rhum
  • 75 g of nuts
  • 75g of pin seads
  • 1 small bag of chemical yeast
  • 1/3 of coffee spoon of salt

At first you pour the raisins in a bowl with the rhum and add a bit of boiling water. Leave them on the side for about two hour.

Soon the raisins are ready, pre-heat your oven to 180 C.

In a casserole put the butter to melt on a small fire. It must not burn.

In a big bowl, break the eggs, add the sugar, the yeast, salt and the melted butter. Mix the lot untill its all well mixed.

Pour the fruits and the nuts. The raisins as well with a bit of the rhum…

Cover the inside of a fruit cake baking mould with a tiny bit of flour so it will not stick. Pour then all the preparation in it and then it goes in the oven for 45 minutes.

Leave it out for about half hour soon its cooked.

Now its time to enjoy.

I bake sometimes some salty cakes like Bacon Olives and Cheese or Scallops Leaks and Parmegiano…Of course no suger and the same quantity of the ingredients. No fruits and no nuts of course … This goes very well with a green salad or offer some to your guests when you are having a cocktail.
