The small, unknow and so beautiful Abbey of Marcillac sur Cele, (46) France.

You need a car to reach that adorable little village. In a beautiful valley where the river Cele is going slow.

Marcillas sur Cele is a place that nobody heard before. If you ever go to the south west of France near by Rocamadour, Figeac and so on, please go and visit this tiny romantic village.

Builted in the 9th century, the Abbey is still in ruins for a big part of it. The priest there is trying to restaur the monument and looking for founds. This Abbey was a stop over on the way to St Jacques of Compostelle.

The village itself is a small jewel. You would enjoy the atmosphere and the peaceful life, walking around. Enjoy a meal in one of the two restaurants and discover the local cuisine. Very generous and cheap…

Never too much tourists around. A pure moment of peace with that Medieval soul.
