I have been surprised by “La Cote Saint Jacques“. Part of the Relais et Châteaux, this hotel and restaurant is really a tremendous place.
The Chef is awarded three stars by the Michelin guide.
Soon you arrive, the doorman will escort you to the lift that takes you down to the restauant. Facing the door of the lift is a glass door overlooking the ktchen. The luxury decor of the restaurant is not too much but really the right harmony, with a very nice view of the river and the gardens. It is not rare to see the Chef going to the garden to pick up some aromatic herbs or vegetables.
From the rose of blue lobster, the pan fried codfish with foie gras to the roasted Pyrenees lamb, I did not know what to choose. That was untill I found the Boudin aux Pommes (Blood sausage and apple), (photo). I was thinking, if there is a blood sausage on the menu of a 3 stars restaurant, that must be something ! And it was, I have no regret. We had a wonderfull “Gevrey Chambertin” red wine.
Desserts were top of the top.
It is trully a brilliant place where is it important to stop by, and enjoy.
