Restaurant “Pierre et Jean” , Chagny (71), France.

As a tribute to his Grand-father and his Father, Jacques Lameloise opened this restaurant in a XVIII century barn. It is just the other side of the street, from the main hotel and restaurant.

This family is a huge Chefs history that started in 1902. Pierre, started to learn in a few remarquable restaurants in Paris, Drouant, Ledoyen, Laperouse and then he joined the brigade of Auguste Escoffier at the Savoy in London. He with his wife Denise, buy a XV century small hotel in 1921. They did a tremondous restauration job, and called this place L’hotel du Commerce Lameloise. He will win his first Michelin star in 1925, and a second one in 1931. His son Jacques will come back in Chagny and manage the hotel restaurant after ten years of training in the very best restaurants. He is pationate and imposes his culinary vision,and get his second star in 1974. And the third star in 1979.

The Pierre & Jean cuisine is very much inspired by the main place “Lameloise”.

Inside or outside in the garden, you will for sure enjoy this elegant cuisine. The servers are really doing a great job. Wines are excellent and you will appreciate the selection they have.

The smoked Mackerel is fantastic. I love the traditional ” Pate en croute” and the Guinea Fowl.

It is a extremely nice place were you would feel on vacation.
